Fall 2023 News

A message from the Chair Kelly Skinner-Meyer

Greetings from the Carley Community Hall.

It was all too brief of a summer, but the sunshine was welcomed and my gardens did flourish with the rain. We were lucky to get a second cut of hay and the bales are ready for pick up. I have to say I love the summer but I enjoy the crisp air at night in the fall season and the trees are just starting to change. We live in a glorious part of the world to witness this amazing display of colour and natures paint brush.

The Hall had a few rentals over the summer, there were family bridal showers, anniversaries, and family get togethers. Some were local get togethers others came as far as Ottawa and Owen Sound to meet in the middle at Carley Hall. It was lovely meeting some of the families and having them experience Carley Halls unique picturesque country setting and they were transported in time going back to the one room school house. They were amazed at the preservation of the Hall and loved the modern updated kitchen. It’s always nice to see the Hall again through our visitors’ eyes.

We are currently planning a new metal roof for the Hall and construction should start by the end of September. This project is very exciting and we look forward to its completion.

The Hall board and volunteers are also busy starting to plan our Christmas Craft show coming up on Saturday, November 04, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., please mark it on your calendars and plan to attend.

I have seen new faces in our neighbourhood and the Carley Community Hall welcomes you to the Carley Valley, come out for a cup of hot cider and look at the
local crafts at our Christmas craft show.

We welcome new volunteers at the Carley Hall, it’s a great way to meet your new neighbours and learn about your new homes’ surroundings.

If you have a family get together or event and you need a place to celebrate please contact us.

Enjoy the autumn,
Kelly Skinner-Meyer
