Carley Hall in Winter

Winter 2026 News

by Kelly Skinner-Meyer

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
2026 is the Year of the Horse—an animal signifying strength and forward motion.
I hope this proves true for all of us, as we could certainly use that strength in the coming year.

This winter has been challenging, and many of us find ourselves checking weather updates for any opportunity to venture out. While I am fortunate to be retired and not required to commute daily, I want to extend a sincere thank you to the Oro-Medonte Township roads department. Maintaining our many roads is a significant task, yet Warminster Side Road is always plowed, even on the worst days. We truly appreciate the men and women who keep our roads drivable. The Carley Hall Community Board also thanks the Township for keeping our parking lot plowed and the sidewalks shoveled.

Carley Community Hall has been increasingly busy with rentals over the last few months. We are also pleased to announce that our annual Pancake Breakfast is scheduled for April 18, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Everyone is welcome! We had to cancel last year due to an ice storm, so we have our fingers crossed for better weather this time.

If you or anyone you know is looking for a beautiful, historical location to host a family gathering, meeting or event, please contact us on our website at carleycommunityhall.com or email Oro-Medonte Township at [email protected].  We are already booking into the summer.

Enjoy the rest of the winter. Look for those days to go out and play and breathe in the fresh air.

Until next time, stay healthy and keep moving forward.
