Fall 2020 News

CARLEY NEWS

By Louise Calvert-Dale

We look forward to more normal times when Carley Community Hall can welcome the public through its doors. The Director of Operations and Community Services at the Township of Oro-Medonte, Shawn Binns, is currently recommending that the Township’s Community Halls remain closed and under review at this time.  This is due to the resource requirements and the difficulty and feasibility of ensuring required controls for the protection of the public and volunteers.

Therefore  our annual Thanksgiving Tea, Saturday October 10 is cancelled and Carley Community Hall’s Christmas Craft sale the weekend of November 7/8 is not feasible this year.

We certainly miss our community events and the opportunity to meet, greet, shop, play, feast and network.  We will be back for you in safer times.

The Township of Oro Medonte is currently working on a phased re-opening plan of its buildings based on the Provincial Public Health guidelines. For information please refer to their website:  www.oro-medonte.ca

The “country way” is alive and well at Carley Community Hall: people supporting one another, teamwork, giving back to community. We miss seeing each other and being connected to our community.  We hope you will stay safe and we will see you soon in healthier times. Carley Community Hall is located at 396 Warminster Sideroad between Line 8 and Line 9.  For bookings call the Township of Oro-Medonte at 705-487-2171 or email [email protected] for details.

Although my daughter and I are not residents of the area of Carley Hall, we do so look forward to attending and joining in the local activities your community presents. We know we shall all be able to come together again, and rejoice in whatever Season of the year – amid the beautiful surroundings of the Hall, and the friendly Country/City folk that treasure the things and bounty of nature, that never diminishes.
